Lite and Pro users can access the timeline for any search term by clicking on the "Timeline" tab after completing a search.

The timeline will list all previous searches, by all users of the AlsoAsked platform that have occurred for that search term, with the same region and language settings.

Filtering results

Clicking on "All users" filter allows you to filter the table to searches completed by All Users of the AlsoAsked platform, only users within your team or only searches you have performed.

This makes results easier to see if you are tracking a specific query at set intervals.

Tier 1 and Tier 2 changes

These columns tell you how many results have changed within the respective tier of the search.

Here is an example of which results are considered "Tier 1" and "Tier 2":

Viewing changes

If there have been changes logged, there will be a blue arrow to click on. Clicking the arrow expands that result to give you an overview of which questions have been added and which questions have been removed since the result which appears below it.

Volatility

Volatility is a core we calculate between 0-100 which gives you an overview of how much the results have changed.

Changes in tier 1 contribute more to volatility than changes in tier 2, as they are closer to the search query and may indicate a greater intent shift.

Downloading data

Clicking on the blue "Download" button will give you options to download the entire Timeline change log in CSV, XLSX or Google Sheets format.

This will allow you access the raw data, if you wish to do analysis:
